If you find yourself with a spare hour of time, you may make your own DIY PVC chicken feeders and waterers. The entire thing can be produced out of PVC, so it is not in any way expensive. |If you’re purchasing your chickens as chicks you need to build a brooding box indoors or inside a garage or shed that could be dry and free from draft, then you will also need to maintain a heat lamp onto your chicks for your first two or three weeks of the life.
There are plenty of PVC chicken feeders, and many people have gone with a design very much like this one. We wanted a great deal from our chicken feeder: it needed to be simple to fill, difficult to spill, protected from non-chicken life types, weather resistant, easy to create, and inexpensive. We tried a range of different designs which worked to varying levels, but this was the only person that did all we asked it to. Enjoy!
